樂團介紹：
薩巴頓(Sabaton)是一支來自瑞典的力量金屬樂團，其作品最大的特色在於：歌詞都跟真實發生的戰爭、歷史事件和歷史人物有關，歌曲風格則壯闊並且激勵人心，歌頌著一件又一件被稱為英雄之人的英勇事蹟，戰爭中那耀眼且可貴的人性光輝，以及對戰爭之殘酷與其所帶來之傷害的嚴厲批判與反思。
歌曲主題背景介紹：
本曲講述的是第一次世界大戰時，一名叫做阿爾貝·塞韋林·羅什（AlbertSeverin Roche）的法國士兵。他以數次成功且傳奇的軍事行動而聞名，包括志願攻下一處德軍據點、獨自守住一整條戰壕、以及被俘後帶領數十名戰友逃回去…等等。整場第一次世界大戰中他一共負傷9次，俘獲過超過1180名敵人，並獲頒法國榮譽軍團勳章。在戰爭結束後阿爾貝獲得法國陸軍統帥費迪南‧福煦接見，稱他是「法軍第一士兵」。

註1：阿爾貝由於身體瘦弱，一開始報名參軍時被拒絕入伍；而後來進入軍隊後差點無法通過全部的訓練，並且受到同袍的排擠。
註2：此處似乎語帶雙關。一來阿爾貝完訓後進入「Chasseurs Alpins」這支山地作戰部隊的第27營，素有「藍色惡魔」的別稱：二來一戰時的法國軍服是藍色的。
註3：阿爾貝曾是亞爾薩斯一處戰壕的唯一一名生還者，並在敵軍來犯時不斷用自己以及死去同袍的武器開火反擊，讓德軍誤以為整個守軍都還在，最終放棄了進攻。
註4：阿爾貝來自法國西南部的雷歐維爾一座農場。
註5：阿爾貝的一個上尉在戰鬥中嚴重負傷時，他花了六小時冒著槍林彈雨爬到長官旁邊，然後又花了四小時將其帶回。筋疲力竭的他在一處用於警戒的坑洞中睡著了，並被路過的巡邏兵誤以為是逃兵而差點被槍決。
