Game objective

 

You got sweets by bidding on cards, and bysupplying those you earn credits. You can also earn credits by manipulating theprice and changing it for cash. After supplying 3 times, the game ends. Theplayer with the most credits wins the game.

Game Preparation

 

Put the Popularity Board in the middle ofthe table.

Place the Popularity Pieces on the board.Place them on the square as follows:

Brown (Chocolate Gateau): 8

Pink (Macaron): 7

Yellow (Madeleine): 6

*Each sweets’ degree of popularity is displayed. The highest is 10, lowest is 4. Popularity will not go up or down if you pass this.

Each player picks one color. Then they getthe Screen, Player Sheet, and Credit Marker for the same color. Place theCredit Marker on Credit Marker track 0 on the Popularity Board. Each playerreceives 30 Livre of money chips. Hide the chips under the Screen. Theremaining chips will be at the center of the board and be the bank. The playerscan exchange money anytime during play.

Prepare the Playing Cards. Look at the topright of the Playing Cards. “2/3/4” means the card can be played anytime, “3/4”means the card can be played with 3 to 4 players, “4” means the card can onlybe played with 4 players. If there are 4 players, all cards will be used.

Take out the cards to be used according tothe number of players. Place them face down and shuffle. Each player receives 6cards. Shuffle the 6 cards received, they remain face down.

Draw one card from the Community Stack andplace it beside the Community Stack face up. This card will be called “in play.”

Game Play

 

The starting player will start the turn.Then each turn will proceed in a clockwise manner. The turns will progress inthis way. Please do it in this order.

 

1.    Place 2 cards in play.

2.    Take 1 card in play.

3.    Play 1 card in play.

4.    Replenish your hand.

1.    Place 2 cards in play.

At first, place 1 Livre chip from the bank on the card that isalready in play. 10 Livre is the chip limit that can be placed on 1 card. Ifthere are already 10 Livre, draw 1 card from the Community Stack. 2 cards willnow be in play.

If you play a Sweet Card. Bidding will occur and the successfulbidder will get the card. (The card will be placed in front of the successfulbidder.) For detailed information about bidding please refer to “About Bidding’.

Cards other than the Sweets Cards will be discarded. Place them faceup in your own discard stack.

Once play is finished, draw cards from your own stack so that you’llhave 3 cards in your hand. If your stack has run out of cards, shuffle thecards from your discarded pile to make a new stack. Then draw the needed cardsto complete your hand.

This is the end of your turn. The player on your left will start thenext turn.

About Supply

 

If you happen to draw a Supply Card from the Community Stack during “1.Place 2 cards in play.” On your turn, the turn will stop at once.

First, the player with turn will get 2 credits.

Then clockwise starting from the player who drew the Supply Card,you will exchange all the cards in front of you to either credits or money.From the most popular Sweets downward, decide either to exchange it for creditor for money. If changing it to credits, move the Credit Track Marker. In thecase of money, take it from the bank.

The popularity of the sweet multiplied by the number of cards ofthat sweet equals the amount of credit or money you can obtain.

(popularity x number of cards = credit/money)

You must exchange all the sweets Cards. Sweets Cards that have beensupplied and the Supply Card return to the box. In this game, you cannot usethem again.

After every player has finished supplying, the player with the turnresumes play. The player who drew the Supply Card will draw 1 card from theCommunity Stack.

Supply example 1:

Corent has 1 chocolate Gateau, 1 Macaron, and 2 Madeleine in frontof her. She decided to change the chocolate Gateau and Macaron to money chips,and the Madeleine into credit. She cannot make 1 Madeleine into a credit andthe other into a money chip.

 

Supply example 2:

The Madeleine’s popularity is 7. Sucre lines 3 Madeleine SweetsCards. Sucre can either get 7 x 3 = 21 credits, or 21 Livres.

Game Conclusion and Winner

 

The game immediately stops after the 3 Supply Cards have been drawnand the appropriate actions have been performed.

At this point, you will get 1 credit for the left-over funds ingroups of 5 Livres.

The player with the most credits will be the winner. In case of atie, the winner is the one who has the most funds that didn’t become credits.If there is still a tie, both share 1st place.

There are 3 kinds: Chocolate Gateau, Macaron, and Madeleine. Eachkind of card has “One Circuit Bidding” and “Simultaneous Bidding.” By playingthese cards, the sweets written on the card will be auctioned.

It is mandatory to perform the auctions written on the Sweets Card.

 

One Circuit Bidding

 

(for every sweet: 2 players = 4 cards, 3 players = 6 cards, 4players = 8 cards)

The player to the left of the host (the player with the turn) startsand goes clockwise. You can either place a bid or pass. The next player willhave to place a high bid. The last player will bid or they can pass. The playerwith the highest bid gets the card and places it in front them. (They haveobtained a sweet.)

 

Simultaneous Bidding

 

(for every sweet: 2 players = 4 cards, 3 players = 6 cards, 4players = 8 cards)

Each player secretly decides the amount to pay for the sweet andholds the same amount of chips behind the screen. When everyone is ready, theyshow the chips at the same time. The player who holds most chips wins thesweet. The winner takes the card and places it in front of them.

If there are multiple players with high chips, the player closet toleft of the host (the player with the turn) wins. (The player with the turngets the highest priority.)

Attack a Player’s Hand

(2 players = 2 cards, 3 players = 3 cards, 4 players = 3 cards)

If you play this card, choose another player to be the target. The chosen player must give their hand to the player with the turn. (The player with the turn looks at the hand secretly.) The player with the turn takes out 1 card from the hand and returns the rest of the hand to the player. (The card taken out is returned to the box.)

The player with the card taken out has less cards until the end of their next turn. On their turn, the player cannot play any cards if they received multiple attacks and have no cards in their hand.

It’s optional to carry out the action written on the card.

A: No. It’s optional to carry out the action in the text. For that reason, you must take out 1 card.
