Another Premier League fixture halted by the snow...

Anfield - Liverpool FC

Liverpool's Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur has been postponed for safety reasons.

Liverpool had earlier appealed to Premier League to call-off the fixture, due to the severe weather conditions that had hit the city.

An earlier statement on the Reds' official website read:

"Liverpool Football Club have submitted an official request to the Premier League that Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash against Tottenham be called off for safety reasons.

"Discussions with the Premier League are currently taking place and more news will be announced as soon as a final decision is made."

Reports indicate that the Anfield club are concerned about the safety of travelling supporters as well as fans around the stadium after England was hit with heavy snow this week.

With temperatures expected to drop as low as -7 C in the north of England tonight, problems are anticipated across the region as the snow freezes and renders conditions treacherous.
