The Paraguas Line Company was a cruise line company that ran Mediterranean, Transatlantic and African coastal cruises from the 1980s until around 2003. A subsidiary of the Umbrella Corporation, Paraguas used its cruise ships as a clandestine means of transporting B.O.W.s and virus samples across the world. They were also used as mobile laboratories for B.O.W. research.

After being redesigned and rebuilt with state-of-the-art laboratories, the three ships were sent across the world in the early 1990s to assist Umbrella in its B.O.W. research. The Queen Zenobia is known to have travelled to and from Africa and may have been used to transport Progenitor Virus samples from the Umbrella Africa Laboratory. In 2002, the ex-Umbrella researcher Morpheus D. Duvall hijacked a fourth cruise ship, the Spencer Rain, redirecting it to the Umbrella Waste Disposal Facility where it was destroyed upon collision with a cliff.

After Umbrella was found responsible for the deaths of the 100,000 Raccoon City civilians in the Raccoon Trials, Paraguas went out of business along with its parent company. The Queen Dido; Queen Semiramis and Queen Zenobia disappeared not long afterwards, having been obtained by Morgan Lansdale. He offered them, along with the t-Abyss virus, to the bioterrorist group Il Veltro and their leader Jack Norman for use as mobile bases of operation to launch a bioterrorist attack on Terragrigia.

Morgan also installed a UAV system on each ship to enable the airborne spread of the virus. Once Morgan determined that the attack on Terragrigia would be successful, he activated a self-destruct system on the Queen Dido to kill Norman and released the t-Abyss virus within the other two ships to wipe out the other terrorists in order to cover his tracks.

Morgan then sent research teams to both ships with the goal of creating a vaccine for the t-Abyss virus. Despite the deaths of several researchers due to attacks from the mutated terrorists, the vaccine was eventually created and sent to Morgan. Immediately afterwards, Morgan remotely accessed the ships' security systems, trapping the research teams, and released the ships' B.O.W.s, in an effort to tie up loose ends.

The Veltro revival act was put up by Raymond and BSAA's head O'Brian to uncover the truth about Terragrigia. However, the Queen Semiramis was destroyed in order to cover up evidence of Morgan's involvment on the terrorist attack on Terragrigia and the development of the T-Abyss Virus (which Tricell also helped develop), the Zenobia was also destroyed as Jessica Sherawat, who was working as a BSAA Agent working but as an undercover agent for FBC's head Morgan but in reality was working for Tricell, activated the self-destruct mechanism of the ship and the ship was destroyed.

The sunken Queen Dido was later infiltrated by Jill and Chris in order to uncover evidence of Morgan's involvement with Veltro, going further in the unflooded areas, there they found Jack Norman, the only surviving member and the head of Veltro, they managed to get his PDA and put him down for good after a battle. As a result, all of the ships were destroyed.

The Queen Zenobia was a cruise liner operated by the Paraguas Line Company until 2003. It was used as a base for the bioterrorist organization Il Veltro in 2004; following that it was used for a year as a secret, military-funded laboratory to test the t-Abyss Virus.

The Queen Zenobia was constructed in 1978 along with its sister ships, the Queen Semiramis and Queen Dido. Both ships' designs were based on blueprints drawn-up by the architect George Trevor before his disappearance in 1968. The trio were to represent a replication of the high-class liners of the 1930s, thought to be the "golden age of cruise ships". The Queen Zenobia, while in her original service, continued to be one of the most popular cruise ships of the 20th century.

In the non-canon Queen Zenobia Cruise Lines advert, the ship was owned by the Queen Zenobia Cruise Lines company, and operated with two sister ships: Queen Olethea and Queen Septima.

When air travel became far less expensive and far more popular, the concept of long sea-faring voyages became dated. By the second half of the 1980s, the trio appeared to be destined for the scrap yard until an unexpected purchase was made by Umbrella's cruise lines subsidiary, the Paraguas Line Company.

Shortly after their purchase, the three received a great overhaul in their designs, with the period-'30s steam turbines being replaced by a diesel-electric propulsion system to keep up with the times. Along with the renovation work was the expansion of the ships' cabin areas and their respective holds. State-of-the-art technology was brought onto the liners to make them the forefront in modern cruising.

After its restoration, the Queen Zenobia, as the flagship of the Paraguas Line, began conducting round-the-world tours and excursions along South America, with the start and finishing points in the route being the Mediterranean. In the first years of the 21st century, the Zenobia's tour became a sail along the North African countries along the Mediterranean.

In 2003, the Raccoon Trials found Umbrella liable for damages for the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident and the United States' "Suspension of Business Decree" against the company was upheld, leading to its bankruptcy. Unable to support itself in light of its parent's public demise, the Paraguas Line Company soon after filed for bankruptcy, and the ship was again fated to be scrapped.

Strangely, it disappeared soon after, having been secretly acquired by US Director General Morgan Lansdale. Lansdale provided the Zenobia and her sister ships to terrorist organization Il Veltro for use as platforms to launch attacks on the Mediterranean city, Terragrigia. After disposing of the Veltro terrorists with a remote-triggered biological outbreak, Lansdale re-purposed the ship for usage as a laboratory complex.

Using their laboratories, he promoted the research of the mutagenic virus known as "The Abyss" and development of a new weaponized version of it, named the t-Abyss Virus, planning to cause a "man-made pandemic".After the cure to the virus was successfully developed, a second biohazard was triggered by Lansdale in order to eliminate loose ends in his plans, soon after sending FBC agents to collect the data. He set the B.O.W.s on board to went rampage and kill all personnel, as well as to dispose of BSAA members who later come to the ship to unveil Lansdale's crime.

As BSAA operatives Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine discovers plenty of evidence to condemn the FBC, Lansdale released a group of B.O.W.s to dispose of the two agents, but he fails and instead had his mole, Jessica Sherawat, to initiate Zenobia's self-destruct countdown.

Escaping the explosion, Chris and Jill find themselves facing a whale-like B.O.W. named Malacoda trying to sink them with the ships. With assistance from fellow BSAA members, Chris and Jill managed to bring down the Malacoda and left the destroyed ship.

The Queen Semiramis was a luxury cruise liner operated by the Paraguas Line Company. It was a carbon-copy of its sister ship, the Queen Zenobia. When Paraguas faced financial problems owing to the accessibility of airline flights to the public, both ships were sent out to be scrapped.

However, the ships were taken control of by Il Veltro and were used in 2004 as a base of operations for their bio-weapons attack on Terragrigia.The BSAA Agent Chris Redfield alongside Jessica Sherawat, boarded the vessel in an attempt to rescue Jill Valentine and Parker Luciani, under the belief that it was the Queen Zenobia. The Semiramis was destroyed by its self-destruct sequence.

When the Federal Bioterrorism Commission head, Director General Morgan Lansdale, began masterminding a conspiracy to increase his powers as commissioner of the FBC, Il Veltro, a group of men with extremist beliefs, were funded by the Director General into becoming an armed bioterrorist faction.

Based on the Dido, Semiramis and Zenobia, Veltro launched UAVs from these ships to attack the city of Terragrigia and drop off Hunters.

Just five days into the attack, Lansdale killed off the Veltro agents on the first two ships, which were to be used later as private research institutes under the overall command of Lansdale by immediately releasing the B.O.W.s stored on the ships. When one of the Veltro agents, Jack Norman, began to suspect Morgan's involvement in the incident, Lansdale activated the ship's self-destruct system. The Dido and those onboard sank to the bottom of the Mediterannean Sea.

In 2005, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield explored the submerged Queen Dido in order to prove Director General Lansdale's involvement in the Terragrigia Panic. While infiltrating the ship, they found the corpses of several Globsters, which were once Veltro agents.Jill discovered a locked blast door which lead them to a section of the ship that wasn't flooded. There, they found the corpse of FBC agent Dario Barioni, along with a video tape in which the former stated that his whole team was killed by "the devil himself", and that their mission to retrieve the video log (which contained evidence of Lansdale's collaboration with Veltro) had failed.

Thus, Jill and Chris ventured further into the sunken ship, crossing the dining room, where a memorial to the fallen Veltro agents had been built by Jack Norman, the only surviving member of Il Veltro. They found Norman within the ship's throne room, where they fought him in order to retrieve the video log. After they succeeded, they escaped, leaving Jack Norman's mutated body and the sunken ship behind.

It is unknown what happened to the Queen Dido afterwards.
