其中部分是專屬於該種族當前狀態的介紹，
蛋、幼年與成年不會彼此相同，而不同品種間的描述也不同，
例如季節冬龍與季節冬幼龍的描述不同，而季節冬龍與成年獄火龍的描述也不同；
但在這些描述底下還有一段相同時期共通的描寫，
拿上述續例，就是季節冬龍與成年獄火龍在這段的文字敘述將是一樣的。
這篇是把共通描寫的部分進行翻譯：
共通敘述差異分為三個階段：蛋、幼龍(第一期&第二期)以及成龍
一、蛋
Unborn dragons are actually ready to hatch early on in their development cycle. However, they choose to remain in the safety of their own egg rather than leave it. If a developed dragon is forced out of the security of its egg, it may try to run away or hide.
尚未出生的龍實際上早已作好孵化的準備，然而它們選擇安全地留在蛋中；在蛋中的龍如果感覺到安全遭受威脅，它們可能會嘗試逃跑或者躲藏起來。
二、幼龍
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don't grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling's wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
年輕的龍相對手無寸鐵，它們幾乎沒有力量，並且要等到成長後才會開始擁有鱗片；當幼龍長出了翅膀，意味著它們準備邁向成熟體，此時，它們通常會離開母親並且開始獨立打獵養活自己。
三、成龍
Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling's wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
龍這種生物擁有無限的壽命，它們可以持續存活一段相當長的時間，現今尚未發現任何一頭因為老去而死亡的龍。雖然並非所有品種的龍成長徵兆皆相同，或是都會長出翅膀，但通常在龍的青春期，長出雙翼意味著它們開始邁入成年；當幼龍到了青春期，它們的身體快速地變化，從開始生長到結束只需要耗費兩年的時間。
Dragons don't communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
龍不進行口語溝通，它們以咆嘯來嚇退獵捕者或是驚嚇獵物，而幼龍被驚嚇時則會發出高而尖銳的叫聲；社交方面，它們透過心電感應的方式與其他生物溝通，或者確認彼此的意思。
