I've done a ton of searches on the issue, and there is still no definite solution to this problem.  Many suggest that you must update to the next version only to find out that by doing this the problem still exists.

Other solutions given:  1) update drivers, 2) reinstall program  3)  buy a better video card  4) processor speed to slow  5)  Bit rate  6) Progressive scan 7)  hardware acceleration (on/off)  8)  Try creating a AVI file  9)  Try recapturing your project, since it's corrupt  10)  one which I suggest, try outputing to a DV tape and re-import the new DV material.

The only solution that I have found to the Green Transition question has been #10.

This is a workaround, and time consuming to say the least, but for those who have tried repeatedly to correct a project with green transitions, this is a 99% cure to your problem.  

Instead of making a AVI, MPEG, or DVD, all of which have not corrected the problem for me, the "output to tape" option works every time.    

ADDED LATER:After you have successfully captured your finished project to a DV tape, then reintroduce it back to a new project, rename it, and then add your menu, and other segments that you desire.  At this point you should be able to Make DVD, MPEG, or AVI files without the troublesome green transitions

The green slices are due to a glitch in the Studio Program. This problem has been around since Studio 9 and I don't understand why it's not been better identified, and a better solution found to fixing the problem once and for all.

Hope this work-around helps someone who is at their wits end.

It took me weeks of research to save a project of my daughter wedding.  When you put a year into a project and have complicated effects, transitions, timing, 5 camera views, it's not nice when someone suggests that you start all over.  

That was not a option in my opinion.
