Encounter 8: Final Encounter
Luchen 4th stormed into the throne room, only to find it empty. Suddenly, he heard the stomping of orcish feet and hid behind the throne. The orc lord and his entourage entered, laughing and joking about their last raid. The orc lord plopped himself down -- on the very throne Luchen 4th was hiding behind! |
Encounter 9: Final Encounter
Luchen 4th entered the heart of Devil's Mouth. The heat was stifling. Lava flowed in rivers in every direction from a giant lake of fire at the center of the cavern. Standing at the edge of the lake was Kweela, a duegar theurge. Her hands raised above her head, infernal magic flowing from them into the fiery lake. |
Encounter 3: Story Encounter
An ogre with scruffy ape-like features rounded a corner, and townsfolk screamed and ran in all directions. The ogre had a cart full of barrels in tow. He lit a fuse on one of the barrels and threw it down the road toward Luchen 4th. |
Encounter 8: Final Encounter
Finally, Luchen 4th found Sinruth?s audience chamber. It was a long room, with a wall-to-wall pit across the middle. Luchen 4th was on one side, and Sinruth himself was on the other. He swung his long spiked chain over his head, faster and faster before aiming it right at Luchen 4th's face. |
Encounter 10: Final Encounter | (Magic) |
Luchen 4th almost believed the dead really were walking out of their tombs when he saw a small band of thieves open one of the sarcophagi. One of them, clearly a necromancer, began casting a spell. Luchen 4th had to assume it would turn the corpse into a zombie and needed to act fast. |

Luchen 5th saw a suspicious man slip into a room off the castle's main hall. When Luchen 5th went to investigate, the room was empty except for a chambermaid. Something was amiss. |
Encounter 9: Story Encounter | (Undead) |
Luchen 5th finally reached the study of whoever was leading this rabble. The room was filled with old books and artifacts from wars long lost. What might have once been an expensive table was covered with maps of the surrounding areas with battle lines and troop orders scrawled all over them. |
Encounter 10: Final Encounter | (Undead) |
The death knight slowly raised its vicious-looking maul and took a step forward. Its eyes, somehow still intact, seemed to be searching Luchen 5th's face, uncertainly. |
Encounter 9: Final Encounter | (Undead) |
The Chalice of Kurgoth stood on a pedestal behind a pair of tattered skeletons. |
