Encounter 1: Forest | (Undead) |
Luchen 4th interrupted two orc drudges performing some sort of ritual at the gloomy, ruined site of a forgotten battle. As they launched the attack, the ghost of a fallen warrior materialized and attacked as well. |
Encounter 2: Forest | |
The hobgoblins that attacked Luchen 4th had a very interesting strategy -- they threw handfuls of gold coins at their prey to distract it while they charged in. It must have been very effective against traveling merchants. |
Encounter 3: Forest (rare) | |
While riding with a few other adventurers in a large cage lashed to the back of an oversized wagon,Luchen 4th made a mental note to get captured less frequently. They were at the end of a caravan of such wagons, slowly driven to who knows where. One of the other prisoners produced a dagger he had hidden in his boot. |
Encounter 4: Swamp | |
Luchen 4th could not recall a time all day when he didn't have a bad feeling about the swamp. The moment the vine horror's vicious vines shot toward him was no exception. |
Encounter 5: Swamp | |
Ambushing an ettercap webspinner was hard enough, but facing off against two ettercap fang guards was harder still. They were slowly circling Luchen 4th from opposite sides. |
Encounter 6: Swamp | |
In order to spy on the gnolls, Luchen 4th had disguised himself as one and infiltrated their camp. They were deciding who they should attack next -- the nice people in the town on the edge of the swamp, or the kobolds who had begun to invade their territory. Luchen 4th spoke up. |
Encounter 7: Swamp | |
Luchen 4th was lost in the swamp. He had found his way to a road, but which road he didn't know. There he met some well guarded and rich-looking merchants who didn't appear to be in the mood to help lost adventurers. |
Encounter 8: Graveyard | |
Atop a many-stepped dais, Luchen 4th discovered an ancient altar, its pictogram-carved surface stained with ancient sacrifice and age. Wondering if the thick slab still held any secrets or power, he wracked his brain for any hint of how to find it. |
Encounter 9: Graveyard | |
Through a heavy mist, Luchen 4th spied a cloaked figure skulking around the graveyard and readied his Hungry Spirits Totem. As he closed on the suspicious humanoid, it whipped around, revealing itself as a wererat. |
Encounter 10: Graveyard | (Traps) |
Searching around the perimeter of a sepulcher, Luchen 4th heard a muffled cry for help coming from inside. Shouting through the loose seal of the giant boulder covering the entrance, Luchen 4th worked to cooperate with the adventurer trapped on the other side. |
Encounter 11: Final Encounter | |
The world fell dark around the rift. The sun disappeared from the sky and hope left Luchen 4th's heart. Yet he knew what had to be done. He performed the ritual and closed the rift. The sun and hope returned. Luchen 4th turned to return home when he saw it - a red skinned, horned devil of misfortune. He must have slipped through before Luchen 4th sealed the rift. |
